It’s the season of giving here in Okmulgee! Thanksgiving is coming up in a few short weeks and Christmas will be here before we know it. Now’s the time when people in our area focus on volunteering their time or donating their money to local organizations in the Okmulgee area. Here are a few ways to get involved.
Participate in Local Fundraising Campaigns
There are several organizations that work tirelessly to improve our Okmulgee community. During this season of giving, you can volunteer your time, money, or talents to current fundraisers at these local organizations.
- Deep Fork Community Action Foundation: Participate in their Christmas School Fundraiser to help provide a gift for every junior and high school student in Okmulgee County this Christmas.
- Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Foundation: Display your brand through the organization’s Ranching Heritage Campaign. The funds raised from this campaign go toward creating a Ranching Heritage and Educational Center.
- Oklahoma Lions Service Foundation: Purchase raffle tickets through November for the annual Cowboy Cadillac Fundraiser. Proceeds go to Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch “Meadows of Hope” and the Oklahoma Lions Eye Bank. This year, drawing for the raffle takes place on December 10.
